Canada’s IFIT Program to offer $90.4 million in Call for Proposals
In Canada, the Investments in Forest Industry Transformation (IFIT) Program has announced their 3rd Call for Proposals. IFIT addresses a critical need for capital investment in new technologies by providing non-repayable contributions of up to 50% of a project’s costs for the demonstration of innovative technologies at the pilot or commercial scale in the Canadian forest industry. To date, IFIT has supported 14 projects across a range of forest sub-sectors and businesses, eight of which are world-first technologies. IFIT was renewed in February 2014, with an additional $90.4 million for the program over four years under Canada’s Economic Action Plan 2014.
The deadline for submitting an Expression of Interest is Tuesday, September 9th at 5:00 PM EDT. Phase 2, the Proposal Form process, will be due Thursday, October 30, 2014 at 5:00 PM EDT.
