Green Bio Fuel Switzerland coming back to life with government support

July 15, 2014 |

In Switzerland, the federal government has anointed the Green Bio Fuel Switzerland project planned for the Solvay industrial park as a recipient project of the green certificates companies must buy to off-set their CO2 emissions. The waste oil-based facility has been on hold because the economics of the project didn’t work out without subsidies, but thanks to the support of the certificates, construction of the facility has started up again. It is expected to produce 120,000 metric tons of biodiesel annually beginning in Spring 2016.
