Egypt proposes $490 million in ethanol investments to UAE

In Egypt, the government has proposed the UAE invest $250 million in a 100,000 ton per year molasses-based ethanol plant as well as a $240 million ethanol plant that would use 100,000 tons per year of rice straw as feedstock. The UAE has expressed interest in investing in the country’s petrochemical sector so will revert back with which project it chooses to invest in.
