Pan Caribbean Sugar turns to bagasse, energy self-sufficient within 3 years

In China, Pan Caribbean Sugar Company has announced that the company will be moving to convert bagasse into energy to make the company self-sufficient. Dr. Huaixiang (Harry) Wu, CEO of Pan Caribbean, projected that making use of the process after the sugar season, the company’s 10-megawatt generator could be used to develop bagasse into fuel within the next three years. Added senior assistant Delroy Armstrong: “We are in discussions with the Office of Utilities Regulation (OUR) and the Jamaica Public Service (JPS) regarding a licence and a power-purchase agreement.”
