In California, Baker Commodities has acquired a controlling interest in San Diego-based New Leaf Biofuel. The purchase of New Leaf allows Baker to expand into other markets that vertically integrate with its rendering operations, and brings added value for the fats and oils it produces.
Baker’s vision is to be able to take its recycling process full circle with no waste, fully recycling everything it picks up into products and materials that benefit the environment and the community at large. It plans to produce the best biodiesel in the state of California, and eventually the entire U.S., by expanding its capabilities and customer base.
