October 13, 2014 |

In Malaysia, palm oil prices are following crude oil prices south, closing at $664.01 per metric ton on Monday. Brent crude fell to $88. Demand for vegetable oils for biodiesel is falling as fossil fuel prices slip further. In the US, soybean production is expected to rise 17% on the year, adding more supplies to the international market that will in turn weigh on prices more.
