Ethanol companies supporting Brazil’s presidential opposition candidate

In Brazil, ethanol companies such as Copersucar along with banks and industry are throwing last minute cash into the presidential campaign of Aecio Neves, which is having a major impact in helping to weaken incumbent Dilma Rousseff ahead of the runoff on Oct. 26. Neves’ contributions in September nearly doubled to $56 million, helping to erode Rousseff’s fundraising advantage.
