Hong Kong’s biodiesel industry wants tighter regulations for waste cooking oil

In Hong Kong, the biodiesel industry is calling for tighter regulations on used cooking oil to keep unscrupulous traders out of the market instead of pushing up prices—pegging used cooking oil with fresh cooking oil—filtering it and putting it back into the human consumption market. That oil would then fall to prices where recycling into biodiesel and soap can again become economically viable.
