BMW ramping up flex-fuel production in Brazil

In Brazil, BMW has started manufacturing its flex–fuel X1 vehicle at the company’s new manufacturing plant in Santa Catarina. The vehicle uses the sDrive20i powered by a 2-liter gasoline engine with ActiveFlex technology. Last month the company started assembling the 328i ActiveFlex there as well. So far the ActiveFlex technology appears to only be available in Brazil.
