Cardinal Ethanol fined $9,600 for air pollution violation in 2011-13

November 12, 2014 |

In Indiana, Cardinal Ethanol paid a $9,600 fine following a complaint by the state’s Department of Environmental Management, who said the company didn’t take sufficient measures to get its air pollution scrubber back online following maintenance shut downs between 2011 and 2013. Up until now, the company had been the east central part of the state’s only biofuel plant to not have been fined for air or water quality violations.
