China’s October biodiesel imports sink by 58% on month

November 25, 2014 |

In China, biodiesel imports for October fell more than 58% from September to just 51,507 metric tons. Of the total, 46,500 tons came from Indonesia, down 56% on the month. Just 33 tons came for Malaysia, down from 10,994 tons the month before. Traders said Chinese demand for PME typically falls in the winter, so the drop in imports was expected, but buyers also had problems securing financing in September and October.
