In Washington, the Environmental Protection Agency says that cellulosic ethanol production reached a whopping 18.2 million gallons as of Nov. 10, above the 17 million gallons originally projected by the EPA under its prevision’s for the 2013 RFS and far beyond the 423,000 gallons produced in 2013. But despite that success, a lower RFS for 2014 announced next year could reduce demand for biofuels and weigh on the industry’s growth.
