Big River Resources teams with Prairie Gold on Amazein add-on

In Illinois, Big River Resources has teamed with Prairie Gold to add on a zein extraction facility at the ethanol plant in Galva. The first of its kind facility will extract a highly valuable corn protein, marketed as Amazein, that will be used for food and pharmaceutical products such as biodegradable plastics, paper coatings, food packaging, antioxidants, medical devices, pharmaceutical products, food and cosmetics. Zein proteins make up about 40% of the proteins found in corn.
