Biofuels Digest Index slumps to 59.74 as oil prices tumble

The Biofuels Digest Index, an index of publicly traded biofuels stocks, dropped 2.02 percent to close at 59.74 as oil prices and energy stocks continued to tumble. For the day, Metabolix (MBLX) rebounded 23.33 percent to $0.37, while Amyris (AMRS) fell 5.44 percent to $2.26. Among other equities, BASF (BASF) dropped 4.53 percent to $69.49. Overall, declines led advances 3 to 1 for the day.
