DuPont and Monsanto agree to settlement, dismiss litigation

In Missouri, DuPont and Monsanto have announced that they have agreed on a settlement regarding their patent infringement lawsuits pending in the U.S. District Court in St. Louis, and that they will be dismissing the suits. Upon dismissal, the two companies will have no litigation against each other. The terms of the settlement are not being disclosed, but the agreement enables the companies to concentrate their attention on developing new solutions for farmers.

The litigation related to claims by Monsanto that DuPont had infringed certain Monsanto seed chipping patents and claims by DuPont that Monsanto had infringed certain DuPont patents related to seed processing.
