Kentucky’s Biomass has until Jan. 27 to pay back taxes or lose land

December 30, 2014 |

In West Virginia, Kentucky-based Biomass has until Jan. 27 to pay $53,000 in back taxes, penalties and costs in order to keep the 78-acre parcel pertaining to the former South Point Ethanol property following a suit filed earlier this year by Lawrence County. If the taxes haven’t been paid by that date, then it will be foreclosed upon and sold. Biomass has been intending to set up a biomass-based power plant for more than a decade.
