Brazilian ethanol exports soar 44% in December but 2014 exports down 47% on year

January 6, 2015 |

In Brazil, a narrow trading window for ethanol exports to the US that opened in late November mixed with a weaker Real boosted exports in December to 132.9 million liters, up more than 44% over November, thanks in part to surging demand for Grade B ethanol to Southeast Asia. Overall 2014 exports were down on the year at just 1.39 billion liters, however, 47% lower on the year and the lowest since Kingsman began tracking data in 2006.
