Midwest ethanol crushing margins fall to two-year low

In the Midwest, Platts is reporting that average ethanol crushing margins have fallen to their lowest in two years at 30.84 cents/gal, down nearly 24% on the week. The Platts Chicago Argo ethanol assessment, which the company uses to calculate the crush margin, was down nearly 9% on the week to the lowest since June 2005 at $1.3370/gal.
