WSU economist tells biodiesel producers to get smarter to survive

In Washington state, a Washington State University economist told biodiesel producers that in order to survive they must get smarter, from feedstock flexibility rather than reliance solely on canola to marketing byproducts such as meal for animal feed. He said expecting 20% returns year-on-year is unrealistic so much create business models that provide steady although more modest annual returns.
