New Zealand’s biofuel producers not sheltered from falling oil prices

In New Zealand, biofuel producers haven’t been sheltered from falling oil prices, with margins taking a hit, especially those processing biodiesel from used cooking oil whose feedstock costs have remained the same. A producer using a byproduct from milk production says it is playing the long game so is holding on tight with an outlook of 120 months. Z Energy who is currently constructing a tallow-based biodiesel plant may look to scale back production if low oil prices stay low for very long.
