Tell us about your company and it’s role in the Advanced Bioeconomy.

Creating a sustainable pathway for a global bio-economy served by global markets via biomass dehydration, torrefaction and carbonization.

Being a good steward of our planet’s resources by contributing to efforts that encourage sustainable food production resulting in sustainable energy as a byproduct.

Tell us about your role and what you are focused on in the next 12 months.

Establish commercial scale torrefaction and carbonization plants based on our proprietary processing technology.

Target various markets contributing to a sustainable bio-economy such as bioenergy, biofuels, biochemicals, biofillers, biochar, etc.

What do you feel are the most important milestones the industry must achieve in the next 5 years?  

Establish multiple commercial-scale torrefaction and carbonization production plants that can produce an engineered product timely and consistently from biorenewable resources.

Realize efficient logistical pathways for the movement of engineered torrefied and carbonized biomaterials.

If you could snap your fingers and change one thing about the Advanced Bioeconomy, what would you change? 

Realizing a technology-implementation and market disruption approach in lieu of technical research-driven approach. Revive industrial and individual entreprenuership utilizing biorenewable resources for sustainable engineered products.

Of all the reasons that influenced you to join the Advanced Bioeconomy industry, what single reason stands out for you as still being compelling and important to you?  

Being a good steward of the planet’s biorenewable resources that was entrusted to man by God.

Where are you from? 

I was born and raised in Neodesha, Kansas (located in the south-east corner of Kansas) where I reside.

What was your undergraduate major in college, and where did you attend? Why did you choose that school and that pathway?

I graduated from Coffeyville Junior College located in Coffeyville, Kansas with an Associated Degree in Business Administration. I received a scholarship for this college for my talent in football.

What’s the biggest lesson you ever learned during a period of adversity?  

To never acquire debt.

Build long-term relationships with customers supplying them with advanced, state-of-the-art processing equipment and services.
