European Parliament committee agrees to cap first generation biofuels at 6%

In Belgium, the European Parliament’s environmental committee voted to cap first generation biofuels at 6%, lower than the 7% sought by member states and 8% sought by the biofuels industry. Rather than waiting for a parliamentary vote, the committee agreed to move forward with negotiations the European Commission.
