Biofuels Digest Index jumps to 67.48 as ethanol equities surge

The Biofuels Digest Index, an index of publicly traded biofuels stocks, jumped 1.50 percent to 67.48 as ethanol equities surged. For the day, Pacific Ethanol (PEIX) soared 25.94 percent to $11.75 while Aemetis (AMTX) jumped 6.24 percent to $2.45. Among other equities, Metabolix (MBLX) dropped 11.19 percent to $0.86. Overall, advances led declines by a 9 to 7 ratio for the day.
