Investor interest in Colombian ethanol falls on lower oil prices

In Colombia, the national ethanol producers association Fedebiocombustibles says falling oil prices have deterred investment in the country’s industry. Domestic production is expected to be enough to supply an E10 blend from 2016 when EcoPetrol and Riopaila Castilla’s new ethanol plants come online. Currently the country blends 8% ethanol.  Despite the project underway, EcoPetrol is expected to cut biofuel investments.
