In California, Mendota Bioenergy’s phase 1 sugarbeet-to-ethanol results are promising which means that phase 2 can soon can get underway. Though the facility is built for 1 million gallons per year of production capacity, production runs will be smaller and dependent on the volume of feedstock available from local farmers. Phase 2 should run in mid- to late-summer following approval from the California Energy Commission to move forward.
