urlTell us about your company and it’s role in the Advanced Bioeconomy.

My company is a Management Consulting Company focusing on the energy markets.

It was when we did a multi-client study about biomass: “What would happen if “everyone” would agree upon the same ambitions for climate matters as Europe has?” that I started to read regular newsletter about bioeconomy and I have continued. It keeps me updated.

Tell us about your role and what you are focused on in the next 12 months.

As a consultant most of your assignments are confidential, but this time I actually have two assignments I can talk about:

I am currently working on a big survey about Staff Motivation Factors in different sources of power generation and would be happy to have more participants in this survey! (email: [email protected])

I am also working on a benchmarking study comparing O&M costs in the wind industry.

In addition to this, I would love to do a bit of analysis about the low oil prices and it’s impact on the markets for biofuels! I just need to find a client…

What do you feel are the most important milestones the industry must achieve in the next 5 years?

To make it short: PARIS! This important meeting is not run by the industry but by politicians, but the outcome will make all the difference.

Of all the reasons that influenced you to join the Advanced Bioeconomy industry, what single reason stands out for you as still being compelling and important to you?

As a consultant I work to get paid. But, I also like to work with things I believe in. As far as I see it, without bioenergy we will not be able to solve the climate situation and WE HAVE TO SOLVE THE CLIMATE SITUATION.

Where are you from?

I am Swedish

What was your undergraduate major in college, and where did you attend? Why did you choose that school and that pathway?

Our education system is rather different, but my subjects at University incorporates both Psychology and Technical Physics!

Who do you consider your mentors – could be personal, business, or just people you have read about and admire. What have you learned from them?

Some years ago I worked with a very nice boss who loved to say that people that has a screwdriver at hand tends to believe that the problem is best fixed by applying a screw but peole with a hammer in at hand, tends to believe that the problem is best solve by applying a nail.

What’s the biggest lesson you ever learned during a period of adversity?

To never give up!

What hobbies do you pursue, away from your work in the industry?

Wine. Literature. Sailing.

What are 3 books you’d want to have with you, if you were stranded on a desert island

I would like to have new books with me, books that I had not read before.

What books or articles are on your reading list right now, or you just completed and really enjoyed?

I prefer to quote literature instead of busieness literature that I find rather boring: I have recently discovered Patrick Mondiano and his lovely books visualizing Paris. I have also read Sofie Oksanens books about Estonia, extraordinary books.

What’s your favorite city or place to visit, for a holiday?

France or the Swedish archipelago.
