REG investigating Geismar plant fire, will remain closed

In Iowa, REG has released information about the fire that occurred on the night of April 2nd at its Geismar plant. The fire was extinguished after five hours at around 11 pm. The company has not discovered the cause of the fire, but stated that an assessment of damages and investigation is ongoing. The refinery will remain offline until repairs can be made.

Two employees were injured in the fire and are in fair condition at a local hospital.
