Idaho county votes against ethanol co-location plans

In Idaho, Canyon County Commissioners voted 2-1 against a conditional use permit for a would-be barley and potato-based ethanol plant outside of Caldwell. Demeter Bio-Resources has a food processing facility that it wanted to co-locate an ethanol plant at, requiring the conditional use permit, but the local authorities turned down the application following hours of negative public comments made at a hearing in April.
