BP announces shutdown of Jennings demo plant after failing to find a buyer

In Louisiana, BP announced it would shutter its Jennings advanced biofuel demo plant, laying off 56 employees. The company said in December that it hoped to sell the sugarcane bagasse-based plant by April but it hasn’t received any acceptable offers, choosing instead to mothball it.
