Workers and cane growers strike in Zimbabwe as Green Fuel fails to pay

May 12, 2015 |

In Zimbabwe, more than 500 workers have gone on strike after going unpaid by Green Fuel for six months. Last week more than 100 cane farmers also went on strike for past dues. The plant has produced roughly 7 million liters of ethanol since October when workers were last paid. Workers held a demonstration in front of the plant, barring cane trucks from entering the facility.
