Fuels America launches pro-RFS ad blitz in DC market

May 18, 2015 |

In Washington, Fuels America has launched a six-figure television campaign in DC, which will include the morning news, Sunday morning talk shows, and cable television in DC. Both the television ads and the digital ads frame the choice before the EPA: Follow the intent and spirit of the RFS, and choose American innovation and rural economies? Or thwart Congress’s intent, and choose oil industry profits?

The ads follow a letter from API and AFPM to the EPA, and a responsive letter from biofuels industry leaders to the EPA. The letters agree on one thing: the EPA has a choice to make. Either choose to reward the oil industry for refusing to fulfill its obligations under the law, or choose to get the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) back on track by proposing Renewable Volume Obligation (RVO) levels that comport with the spirit and intent of the law.

According to the group. “This campaign is just the beginning of our nationwide effort to call on America’s leaders to make the right choice for American jobs and innovation. We’re going to keep fighting alongside the majority of Americans who want more choices at the pump and support the Renewable Fuel Standard.”
