Petrojam Ethanol forced to relocate as petroleum refinery expands

May 18, 2015 |

In Jamaica, Petrojam Ethanol Ltd is being forced to relocate as the Petrojam oil refinery expands, putting the distillery in a tricky position. The energy minister insists the refinery expansion be well on its way by year’s end but PEL doesn’t yet have a game plan, though it would prefer to co-locate at a port if indeed it is forced to move. The facility has been mothballed since 2012 when it lasted tolled Brazilian ethanol for the US market.
