Sunoco files suit to claim $300 million in unpaid ethanol blending credits

In New York state, Sunoco has filed a complaint in the Court of Federal Claims seeking a $300 million refund for overpaid excise taxes on ethanol during 2005-2008 based on the Alcohol Fuel Mixtures credit. The company says it sought to recuperate these taxes from the IRS but all attempts were denied by the agency.
