Brazil slaps 11.25% import tariff on ethanol

In Brazil, the country’s president signed into law last Friday a bill that includes a 11.25% import tariff on ethanol imports in an effort to protect the country’s ethanol industry and will work to close the arbitrage window of US ethanol exports into the country. Ethanol imports during 2015 coming from the US reached 357 million liters through May.
