Corn ethanol margins likely to rebound as farmers offload old season corn

In Illinois, corn prices are expected to fall soon, known as a “mini harvest”, as farmers look to offload corn before bringing in the new crop this fall, a move that will help corn ethanol margins rebound from recent levels. Corn prices have risen 5% over the past few weeks, pressuring margins to 10 cents a gallon or less, even to breakeven, but will lower prices record ethanol production is expected to continue for the foreseeable future.
