FAO and OECD say biofuel feedstock costs will fall thanks to lower oil prices

July 2, 2015 |

In Italy, a new report from the UN’s Food and Agriculture Organization and the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development say prices used for biofuel production such as corn and soybeans will feel the impact of falling oil prices, cutting the cost of feedstocks. With oil prices having fallen by more than 50%, feedstock prices have fallen around 40%. Lower oil prices are expected to continue to weigh on biofuel demand.
