EERE seeks input regarding higher ethanol blends for small engines

July 9, 2015 |

In Washington, the Department of Energy (DOE), Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy’s (EERE) Bioenergy Technologies Office (BETO) seeks stakeholder input on (1) the potential to optimize and/or modify small engines to utilize ethanol blends greater than 10% (E10) and (2) the barriers limiting the expansion of overall biofuel consumption in the small engine industry. The small engines of interest for this RFI are spark-ignition, internal combustion engines such as those found in small tractors, chainsaws, hand-held line trimmers, off-road motorcycles, generator sets, personal water craft, small outboard motors, snowmobiles, and all-terrain vehicles.

This is solely a request for information and not a FOA; therefore, DOE is not accepting applications at this time. DOE will not respond to questions related to this RFI. Responses to this RFI must be submitted electronically to [email protected] no later than 5:00pm EDT on 8/30/2015. Responses must be provided as attachments to an email.
