University of Minnesota professor testifies against RFS in House hearing claiming pollution deaths

July 23, 2015 |

In Washington, a University of Minnesota scientist told a House of Representatives committee hearing on the RFS on Thursday that ethanol mandates lead to more pollution-related deaths in the Midwest and East Coast.

He pointed the finger at cellulosic ethanol as well, saying that it emits more of some pollutants than even gasoline. Growth Energy has complained on social media that biofuel industry representatives were not invited to testify at the hearing.
