US ethanol production rate dips to below 15 billion gallon/year threshold
In Washington, according to EIA data as analyzed by the Renewable Fuels Association, ethanol production averaged 965,000 barrels per day (b/d)—or 40.53 million gallons daily. That is down 8,000 b/d from the week before. The four-week average for ethanol production stood at 977,000 b/d for an annualized rate of 14.98 billion gallons. Stocks of ethanol stood virtually unchanged at 19.6 million barrels—a 0.5% increase from last week. Imports of ethanol continued to register zero b/d for the 14th straight week (and the 29th time in 30 weeks).
Gasoline demand for the week averaged 392.2 million gallons daily. Refiner/blender input of ethanol averaged 903,000 b/d. Expressed as a percentage of daily gasoline demand, daily ethanol production was 10.33%. On the co-products side, ethanol producers were using 14.632 million bushels of corn to produce ethanol and 107,047 metric tons of livestock feed, 95,363 metric tons of which were distillers grains. The rest is comprised of corn gluten feed and corn gluten meal. Additionally, ethanol producers were providing 5.68 million pounds of corn distillers oil daily.
