UK´s first commercial algae farm to be set up off Scottish coast

In the UK, the country´s first commercial seaweed farm will be set up off the Scottish coast neary Argyll in hopes of supplying a future biofuel industry. The one hectare farm will produce up to 24 metric tons of seaweed annually and will first be used as a demonstration site. Brown and red varieties of the seaweed will be grown, may of which will be sourced from local varieties.
