Brazil set to build first sweet potato-based ethanol plant

In Brazil, Gratt Industria de Maquinas wants to build a sweet potato-based ethanol plant in Roraima state that would produce 5,000 liters of fuel per day as well as animal feed as a byproduct. Upon regulatory approval, the facility could be up and running in about 12 months. The ethanol is expected to be used not only for transportation fuel but also electricity production.
