Europe prepares to switch to winter biodiesel, pushing wide RME and FAME-0 spreads

In the Netherlands, Europe is gearing up for its winter biodiesel blend and as such demand is soaring for more cold-tolerant blendstock. As such the price spread between RME and FAME 0 has hit an eight-month high at $56.50/mt, the highest since January. The switch to FAME-10, which has cold-filter-plugin-point of -11c rather than FAME-0 that congeals as 0c and is blended during the summer, will start taking place Sept. 15. RME has congeals at -13
