September 3, 2015 |

In Norway, Sweden’s Perstorp is set to buy a rapeseed biodiesel facility based in Fredrikstad, similar to its existing facility in Stenungsund, Sweden. The country is looking to expand its footprint, especially in Norway where stricter environmental legislation is requiring more attention on the use of biofuels. Details of the acquisition including financial terms and when the deal is meant to close were not disclosed. In addition to producing RME, it also produces an RME that uses bio-based methanol to further reduce GHGs. The company also has activities in Biogas-based chemistry, Ethanol-based chemistry, and Vegetable oil-based chemistry.
