Addax Bioenergy hands over new boreholes and latrines as part of Ebola investments

September 7, 2015 |

In Sierra Leone, Addax Bioenergy has constructed 20 new boreholes and eight Ventilated Improved Pit (VIP) latrines in 23 villages under its Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) program, which have now been handed over to the community for use and maintenance. With around 400 people using each well, up to 11,000 people will now have access to clean water as a result of the program. The WASH program was part of the investment the company made during the Ebola outbreak, in addition to building a 100-bed Ebola Treatment Centre and an Ebola Isolation Unit in Makeni and other donations to the local communities and ministries to tackle the disease.
