NeXgen Fuel supplies renewable diesel to California city

September 14, 2015 |

In California, the City of Walnut Creek has shifted its diesel fleet to renewable diesel, supplied by NeXgen Fuel and distributed by Golden Gate Petroleum, after the companies approached the city about the possibility. The city is paying around $2.75 per gallon for the drop-in fuel, about 10 cents cheaper than biodiesel and on par with fossil diesel. Previously the city used a low biodiesel blend for its street sweepers, dump trucks, backhoes, lawn mowers and other equipment but has transitioned seamlessly to the new fuel.
