UAE halophyte project getting ready to start pilot project in next few months

In the UAE, the halophyte-based biodiesel project under development at Masdar Institute with the support of Boeing, Etihad Airways and other partners is looking at doing a small 12-18 month pilot project of the technology after construction on the 1 acre site is finished in the next three to four months. The plan is to run through a few harvest cycles to get a good feel for the process before looking at scale up opportunities for commercial production.
