Washington state water taxis to run on B10

September 18, 2015 |

In Washington state, water taxis run by King County will soon begin operating on B10 using locally sourced biodiesel. One vessel is already operating on the blend, a second will come in shortly and a third will be cleaned up and released back onto the water ready for biodiesel later this fall. The county expects carbon savings of around 140 metric tons per vessel, per year. The county’s executive has recently released a climate change policy plan that includes the greening of water taxis.
