Brazilian hydrous ethanol consumption hits all-time high in August

In Brazil, hydrous ethanol consumption reached an all-time record in August at 1.57 billion liters, up 48% on the year but just slightly over July’s previous record. Total consumption this year through August reached 11.5 billion liters, up 48% on the year and 8% higher than the record consumption in 2009. Ethanol’s parity against gasoline continues to fall at 63.9%, compared with July’s 64.4% and 68.2% during August 2014.
