Spanish company launches energy island project using 100% renewables

In Spain, PlanetEnergy has launched its energy island project, producing 100% of household energy requirements from organic waste, wastewater, and manure waste with solar, wind, batteries and biodiesel backup. The company says the project is applicable for any household size in rural applications and in larger communities as well as industrial parks. The demonstration facility will be open to the public in order to show the technical and economic feasibility of off-grid applications in both the developed and developing world.
