Biodiesel prices fall in Chicago and Gulf Coast as ULSD prices sink on Chinese pressure

September 29, 2015 |

In the US, biodiesel price assessments in Chicago and the Gulf Coast have followed ultra-low sulfur prices lower to near six-year lows on Monday at $2.1270/gal and $2.0970/gal respectively. The diesel prices were mainly impacted by weaker industrial profits in China, an issue that has weighed on fuel prices over all during the past few weeks. The higher boho premium between soy oil and heating oil, caused by a sharper drop in heating oil prices compared to soy, has also made biodiesel blending a challenge.
